My story
My story is one of hope, love, resilience, and perseverance. In my early twenties (quite a few years ago now), I felt completely stuck. On paper, everything seemed fine: I was studying, had a nice job, and was healthy. But on the inside, I felt like a squeezed lemon. Empty.
I was incredibly restless and often woke up with a knot in my stomach. I was full of existential questions: Who am I really? What gives my life meaning? Why do I feel so miserable when everything is supposedly going well? And why is there so much suffering in the world? At some point, I realized I had completely lost touch with myself.
The Bridge Between East and West
When I read my first book on Buddhism back in 2005, I saw a way out for the very first time. The Eastern wisdom touched something deep inside me that didn’t need words. I started meditating and immersed myself in Buddhist philosophy.
As a Westerner, I feel deeply drawn to Eastern philosophies of life, but I also see the immense value of Western approaches – precisely because we live in a Western society, with a Western mindset.
A new life
When I finally (by then I was in my mid-thirties) stopped listening to my head so much and dared to follow my heart, I turned my life upside down. My inner journey took me from working as a marketing communication lecturer to living as a digital nomad.
I sold most of my belongings and ventured out into the wide world. For three years, I lived completely free, exploring, and in deep connection with myself and the world around me. Life rewarded me richly: I found my life partner and my new home under the Spanish sun.
I have been living in southern Spain for over ten years now. But my new life has its shadows too. I lost childhood friends. My health failed me, and my desire to have children remained unfulfilled. By now, I know all sides of life: happiness and pain, hope and loss, grief and gratitude.
Through it all, the great constant has always been love – for myself and for others. Because love knows no boundaries. It allows me to listen with an open heart, without judgment. My own journey has given me the wisdom and empathy to stand right beside you today.
"That bridge between East and West: between being, thinking, feeling, and doing, is where I found my strength."
– Eunice Frijde
My mission
Since 2014, I have been guiding people on their inner journey. I started as a buddy, but at some point the desire grew to professionalize my work — which led me to train as a counselor. I want to be the counselor I wish I had back then: an empathetic listener who asks the right questions, creates a safe space to simply be yourself, and reminds you of your own wisdom and strength. Not to ‘fix’ you, but to help you come home to yourself.
My belief
I believe a more beautiful world begins with happy, conscious, and resilient people. That is why I contribute to what I call a spiritual revolution: a shift in which awareness matters as much as outward success. A world in which we also measure success in wisdom, humanity, and compassion.
Because when it comes down to it: happy and (self-)aware people not only make their own lives richer, but also the lives of others — and with that, we create a better world for all living beings.
